In fact, you won't see his, but I'll probably add bits and pieces to it over the course of a day or two. This blog is about my atheism, because I'm tired of being asked about it. I'm going to choose to point out a thing or two about why I chose this position, and if anybody asks from here on out, they'll know where to look. First of all, the presence of evil clearly demonstrates the lack of a benevolent god. One example being Hell. Why punish nonbelievers so harshly for eternity? Why not send them to a neutral place or at best a nice place, but not as good as Heaven? The two eternal destinations are completely opposite each other, I believe, as a scare tactic. Now obviously, God created Hell in a sense by creating Satan. According to Christianity he's directly responsible for anything that's ever gone on in this universe. Speaking of the creation of the universe... What caused him to decide to create the universe 13.7 billion years ago? He's been around for an eternity... Why not 86.4 billion years ago? Or to add legitimacy to the creationist argument, why not 10 thousand years ago? It's a small catch, but an interesting one, nonetheless. Basically, I'm just beginning to really, really dislike fundamental Christianity. I don't even like capitalizing that word... Some friends and family just got back from a mission trip. I hate those things. They have pictures of children (who aren't old enough to consent to sex or vote) raising their hands to show they've accepted Jesus, hooray! Immediately following, they all got lunchboxes with free gifts and trinkets. And churches actually spend money on this!!! And people give money to churches!!! It's sickening! I'm sorry, I really can't type any more on this, I'm about to throw up. Feel free to comment.

Wow. Quick aside, Kobe is the man.

In other news, this summer's movie line-up kicks ace. I just saw the trailer for the new Mummy movie and it looks freaking sweet so I can add it to the 15-20 other movies that I want to see this summer headlined by the likes of The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk, Pineapple Express, Narnia: Prince Caspian, and even M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, the Happening. There are PLENTY more here, but I don't want to make the list ridiculously long. Regardless, I'm going to be spending around a hundred bucks on movie's this summer. Yikes.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sooneraristotle.blogspot.com/2008/05/wow-just-wow.html' title='Wow. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. Now, on to my life. I actually did surprisingly well this semester, even though I should have done better. I got 2 really high B's that should have been A's. Oh well, 3.2 isn't bad. With the GPA improvement, I sent out transfer information to OU and the University of Washington. I might go back to Norman for the last year, but I'd prefer Seattle. I just really want out of small-town Oklahoma. I'll miss my friends, but in the age of communication, I'm sure we can find a way or two to keep in touch.

NFL Power Rankings

I think, for the most part, that ESPN did okay, but I mostly agree with John Clayton's own power rankings. He has the Cowboys in third behind the Patriots and the Chargers at 1 and 2, respectively. Then he rounds it out with the Colts at 4 and the Jaguars at 5. I think the Cowboys could have gone ahead of the Chargers with a solid draft and some good 0ff-season moves (Zac Thomas and Pac-Man Jones). I also think Marion Barber will put up near-LT numbers without having Julius Jones in the backfield. Ah, can't wait for the start of football season. As soon as the NBA playoffs are over in a couple of weeks, I get stuck with just baseball until September practically.

Oh well, I've been spending a lot of time playing sports recently, and that tends to be more fun anyway. I shot hoops for the first time in a while last Thursday, and I've played tennis the last 4 nights. It's good exercise compared to my usual nothing, so I'll take it.

No new game news or anything, but I might have some pretty cool news just around the corner.

GTA4 is pretty much awesome...

The headline says it all. I've been cruising around Liberty City for a few days now, and it really is a great game. I don't know if it's an all0time favorite or anything yet, but it's living up to my expectations. There's nothing quite like shooting a guy with a sniper rifle, waiting for the ambulance to show up, stabbing the ambulance driver, jacking the ambulance (at this point you probably have a few police cruisers on your tail), flipping on the sirens to move traffic, then slow-motion ramping off a bridge doing a barrel roll in the process. Yes, it kills you, but it's so worth the medical bill... It's recommended.

Hurray for Papers...

I have two book reviews due in pretty soon. One has to be about a biography over a person from the late 19th and/or early 20th century. I was thinking Jim Thorpe, but I have no clue. Any suggestions?
